The Reverend Andrew Christiansen
Fr. Drew was born and raised in Saginaw, MI. He came to St. Michael and All Angels in January of 2023. Prior to that, he served as Upper School Chaplain at Ascension Episcopal School in Lafayette, LA from 2021-2022 and Associate Priest and School Chaplain at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Shreveport, LA from 2017-2021. Fr. Drew studied at Saginaw Valley State University (B.A.) and Bexley Hall Seminary (M. Div). He loves history and is currently studying toward a doctorate in church history under Paul Hinlicky focusing on WWII and how many German church leaders and theologians supported the evil of the Nazi regime and how many (like Bonhoeffer) resisted it. Fr. Drew has been married to his wife Rachael since 2020. Rachael teaches Kindergarten at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School and is a Godly Play leader at St. Michael's. Fr. Drew enjoys reading, music, travel, food, and spending time with Rachael and their dogs Nelli and Miles and their cat Grit. He plays bass guitar for Jumpin' Jehoshaphats, a band and ministry in Lake Charles that plays for residents of assisted living facilities. Drew is a member of Lake Charles Rotary Club, also serving on their board, and of EFAC-USA (Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion). He has written for Anglican Digest, Anglican Theological Review, The Living Church, and Logia: A Journal of Lutheran Theology. |
