The Reverend Andrew Christiansen
Fr. Drew was born and raised in Saginaw, MI, and joined St. Michael and All Angels in January 2023. Before coming to Lake Charles, he served as Upper School Chaplain at Ascension Episcopal School in Lafayette, LA (2021–2022) and as Associate Priest and School Chaplain at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Shreveport, LA (2017–2021). He holds a B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University and an M.Div. from Bexley Hall Seminary. A lover of history, Fr. Drew is currently pursuing a doctorate in church history under the Lutheran theologian Paul Hinlicky, focusing on how different German church leaders responded to the rise of the Nazi regime and the events of World War II. Fr. Drew married his wife, Rachael, in 2020. Rachael teaches kindergarten at Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School and serves as a Godly Play leader at St. Michael’s. Together they share their home with two dogs, Nelli and Miles, and a cat named Grit. In his spare time, Fr. Drew enjoys reading, music, traveling, good food, and spending time with Rachael and their pets. He also plays bass guitar in a local ministry-band Worship Warriors that brings music to residents in assisted living facilities. (If you’d like to book them, please contact St. Michael’s!) In addition to his parish ministry, Fr. Drew is an active member of the Lake Charles Rotary Club where he also serves on the board. He also has written occasional articles that have appeared in Anglican Theological Review, The Living Church, Logia: A Journal of Lutheran Theology, and Mockingbird. |
